Job Full Description
Senior Final Inspector | Direct Hire, Full-Time
Location: Coventry/Andover, CT area
Pay rate: $40+/hr
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform final visual and dimensional inspections of machined parts and assemblies prior to shipment
- Verify parts meet engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Inspect for burrs, sharp edges, surface defects, edge break, and finish requirements
- Utilize precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and indicators
- Review and complete inspection reports, certifications, and quality documentation
- Identify, document, and disposition nonconforming material per company procedures
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards
- Support first article inspections (FAI) and customer audits as required
- Mentor and support junior inspectors and production personnel
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area
- Follow all safety, quality, and company policies
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (Associate degree or technical training preferred)
- 5+ years of inspection experience, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Extensive experience with precision measuring instruments
- In-depth knowledge of final inspection and acceptance criteria
- Experience working in regulated quality systems (AS9100 / ISO 9001)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently and make quality decisions
